Rockin' Robin

What a fantastic, fun filled day at Work Shop and Play for some of the students who access the Medical Needs Teaching Service. Who would have thought that making needle felt robins could be so therapeutic, entertaining and an excellent way to make new friends? 


Harlington Upper School best performing upper school in Bedfordshire 2017 and 2018

Harlington Upper School are absolutely delighted with another set of wonderful exam results this year, and are the best performing upper school in Bedfordshire for the second year running.


A Roaring Success

The Medical Needs team took 10 students to Whipsnade Zoo on 13 July, to give them the opportunity to socialise and make new friends, which isn't always easy for those who are unable to attend school regularly.  They had a purr-fect day!


HAST Snow creations

HAST school students took advantage of the snow day on 11 December to produce some wonderful snow creations.  HAST launched a competition for the best snow creation, and we received a huge number of entries, ranging from children in nursery up to Year 12!


HAST Panto visit

On Thursday 14 December, some of the Medical Needs teachers took a group of young people to Milton Keynes theatre for a theatre workshop, followed by watching this year's pantomime, Cinderella.  They all had a fantastic time, and were especially excited to meet Gok Wan!


Snow Update 11 December

Short Story Competition

Are you a young writer?  If you enjoy writing stories and the chance to win a prize, enter our writing competition, which is open to pupils and young people from all schools in the Harlington Area Schools Trust.  Stories should be no longer than 500 words and on the theme of partnership, alliances and communication.  Younger pupils may wish to write a poem instead. 

Entries can be handwritten or word processed, and should bear your name and year group, plus the name of your school.  Entries will be judged by each school first, with a number then being submitted for the overall prizes.  Age ranges are Years 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-11, 12-13.

The deadline for entries is Friday 8 December.  A judging panel of local writers and former pupils will choose winners in each category in the first half of the Spring Term.  Winning stories will be uploaded to the HAST website and the winners in each age range will receive a prize and a certificate.  For more information, talk to your English teacher.

The HAST Medical Needs Team packed up their knapsacks, laced up their boots and visited Milton Keynes on Wednesday 14th December for the spectacular, traditional family pantomime Dick Whittington and workshop …. and a brilliant time was had by all!
